Nordic walking

For people, who like to exercise in the open air, it's a perfect way to relax. Just a couple of years back hiking with a stick had been totally unknown. Nowadays almost 400 000 Finns prefer that kind of leisure! Nordic Walking has become so popular because it's easy to teach and what is more it's effective. Walking with a stick is almost 40% more effective than without one. Depending on the speed of the march and on the person walking, even 400 calories per hour can be burned (during a "normal" walk it's just around 280cal.). Thanks to the sticks, which decrease the stress put on joints we can travel long distances without fear.

Nordic Walking easily raises the pulse to the level which keeps the heart and the circulatory system in good shape. But this is not the end to the benefits for your body: your legs and hands become stronger, the upper torso muscles and arms muscles become strengthened, your shoulders loosen up.
